Place is just as it's advertised - a Writer's Retreat. First of all, this place is exceptionally clean, despite that it is a cabin in nature. Things are way bigger than they looked in the pictures, at least for me: bathroom is spacious and the desk was large enough to fit my laptop, BUNCH of books, external keyboard, mouse, etc. And finally, the overall energy of the place felt right for me. In addition to the cabin, David's recommendations were spot on as well. I ate at the restaurant down the street multiple times during this trip - while the price is a bit high, it is totally worth it. Gregory Lake near by was just so beautiful, and the local Crestline community was also very friendly. I preferred this area over the soulless Arrowhead in my opinion. If you drive another 20-30 minutes down, you can also check out the beautiful Silverwood Lake, which is another degree removed from civilization, but is still state-run so safe for an adventure.
